Traffic in Santo Domingo... Makes me feel right at home. :-)
There's a beautiful aquarium in the Capital, we spent several hours admiring the fish and fauna. Cherie and Alex were thrilled. Complete with an underwater glass tunnel, sharks swirling overhead.

More D.R. :)

Along the Via El Conde... El Conde is a road-turned-footpath running from one side of the old Colonial Zone to the other. The old walled city was built exactly one kilometer square. This walk is lined with small shops, cafes, and interesting things to see, the hotel we stayed at was also located right along El Conde.
Yogun Früz, a popular ice cream/frozen yogurt shop. Popular with the Simmons at any rate!!! :-)

The historic Zona Colonial in Santo Domingo- first city in the New World! Some of walls you can see today, were built in the 16th century. Pretty impressive.
Alex demonstrating the size of the cannon opening.
Old and new; a corner of the original colonial wall sits in between the lanes of a busy roadway, with a cruise ship for a backdrop...

Some pics from our recent trip to the Dominican

With our friends Tom and Laurie Mohler in Jimani, Dominican Republic.... Beautiful place!!!
